- Our flagship collection, Viva Mineira, is made from pure Mineira Hair™, the rare and precious hair cut from verified and photographed donors born in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil – the only place in the world where population DNA is an equally balanced blend between European, African and Amazonian Indian. The exclusive choice of only the most sophisticated and demanding ethnic women, Mineira Hair™ is to Brazilian Hair what Mongolian Baby Cashmere is to ordinary Cashmere.
Our second collection, Pure Brazil is made from pure Brazilian Hair cut from identified and photographed donors born in any state within Brazil. While exhibiting more genetical variance than Mineira Hair™, Brazilian Hair is nevertheless noticeably softer, naturally wavier, much more meticulously maintained, healthier looking and lighter in tone than your typical Asian/Indian hair currently flooding the markets. To extend the "Wool Analogy": Brazilian Hair is to Brazilian-looking Indian/Asian hair what Cashmere is to wool. - Volumes & Lengths
- Ponytails cut from donors contain hair of various lengths. Maintaining ponytails together and unidirectional from cutting to sewing / ventilating helps to give Mara Valentina hair its deceptively natural look. Given the natural variance of hair lengths in ponytails, Maria Valentina lengths refer to average length instead of the maximum length used by most brands. There are nine average lengths available: 35cm (12”), 40cm (14”), 45cm (16”), 50cm (18”), 55cm (20”), 60cm (22”), 65cm (24”), 70cm (26”) and 75cm (28").
Whether it contains wefted extensions / "weaveons", lace frontal + wefted extensions, or a full lace wig, the volume of hair in every Maria Valentina box adheres to a simple rule: one box = one (full) head. A detailed explanation of exactly how this level of standardisation can be achieved with a product made from material as variable as human hair, as well as an illustration of the average length concept outlined above, please refer to the illustration below. - Product Lines – Textures
- Maria Valentina specialises in naturally wavy Brazilian hair. The hair can be straightened by blow-drying, and curled-up again by wetting and letting it dry naturally. Maria Valentina hair blends in naturally with ethnic hair, never loses its waviness, and responds well to most kinds of styling – including techniques that use thermal tools or moderate chemicals. The three lines of Maria Valentina hair correspond to three degrees of natural waviness as follows:
Lightly Wavy (2A): The "Classic Waves" Line
Maria Valentina's Classic Waves line features long and elegant natural waves that turn slightly more accentuated when left to air-dry after being wet. Corresponding to texture category 2A (Lightly Wavy), this hair can be curled up to a body wave texture or even spiral curls with all the usual thermal tools. For bouncier curls, you can apply setting lotion with rollers, ensuring that the ends are wrapped into the rollers to avoid "fishhooks". Classic Waves can be straightened simply by blow-drying, and waved-up again by air-drying. For cutting, or any chemical processes such as perming or coloring, take your Classic Waves to a professional stylist. Like all Maria Valentina hair, this hair can be worn one length or in layers.
Medium Wavy (2B): The "Romantic Waves" Line
Soft, sexy and touchable – yet maintaining its form come rain or shine, Maria Valentina's Romantic Waves line's versatility will not let you down. Corresponding to texture category 2B (Medium Wavy), Romantic Waves' natural texture pattern adorns in particular an African-descendant wearer very sensually and naturally. This hair also holds its "curvilicious" waviness beautifully when left to air-dry, becomes classically wavy when blow-dried, and even flat irons into smooth and straight for those important gala evenings. Like all Maria Valentina hair, this hair can be worn one length or in layers. For cutting, or any chemical processes such as perming or coloring, take your Romantic Waves to a professional stylist. Very Wavy (2C): The "Playful Waves" Line
Maria Valentina's Playful Waves line features a delicious and joyful natural curl pattern that makes this hair care-free and bouncy. Corresponding to texture category 2C (Very Wavy), this hair radiates lust for life and feminine electricity. The tight curves of Playful Waves are easy to relax or even completely straighten simply by blow-drying, and can then be curled-up again by air-drying. For cutting, or any chemical processes such as perming or coloring, take your Playful Waves to a professional stylist. Like all Maria Valentina hair, this hair can be worn one length or in layers.

- Natural Hair Colours
- All Maria Valentina hair is virgin, showing natural hair colour only. We merely group ponytails together such that even though each Maria Valentina box contains on average the full ponytails of three donors, the colours of the different ponytails used to create the extensions in a given box are indistinguishable. We offer four natural colours: 1B (natural black / "off-black"), 2 (dark brown), 4 (medium brown), and 33 (auburn).
- Keratin Hydration
- All hair destined for Maria Valentina wefted extensions, lace frontals or full lace wigs comes from photographed and ID'd donors, and undergoes the famous Keratin Hydration Treatment in our Hair Couture House. It is a revolutionary process that softens, shines, and makes hair healthy by penetrating the cuticle to repair internal damage and coating the hair to prevent further damage. The treatment uses only keratin, a liquid form of hair. Because no chemicals are used, the hair is left in its virgin, undamaged state.
- Wefting Methods
- Maria Valentina's wefted extensions / "weaveons" can specified with either hand-tied or machine wefts. For those who want to have their cake and eat it, Maria Valentina even offers a “Best-of-Both-Worlds” alternative, combining 2/3 hand-tied weft to be applied on the back of the head where durability matters more than bulk or ability to cut, with 1/3 machine weft to be applied on the top of the head where thinness and ability to cut matter more than durability.

- We use the six industry standard head measurements described in the illustration below to tailor-make our products for the best individual fit. Whether it is wefted extensions, lace frontals or full lace wigs, our discerning clientele knows that buying hair extensions without taking measurements would be much like shopping for shoes without regard to shoe size.
Wefted extensions / "weaveons" use measurements 1 and 2 to achieve tailoring of total weft width to the size client's hair growth area by modifying the density of the hair sewn into each cm of weft. This is done without changing the total amount of hair destined to that Maria Valentina box – merely its sewing density.
Lace frontals use measurements 3 and 4 to appropriately dimension the size of the lace frontal itself, and in addition measurements 1 and 2 to tailor hair density of the wefts that come with the lace frontal to cover the rest of the head.
Full lace wigs use all six measurements to achieve perfect tailoring of the wig to the client's natural hairline. - Packaging
- Maria Valentina extensions, lace frontals and lace wigs all come in a luxurious box inspired by the classic Louis Vuitton hat boxes. The hair inside it comes in a sealed but breathable plastic tube, ensuring that nobody has tampered with the hair since it left our Hair Couture House in Brazil. The sealed hair, in turn, is gently folded inside a satin bag that can be used to store the hair when it is not being worn. The box also contains a credit card-like Certificate of Authenticity with references to the Brazilian industrial bodies that audit us for 100% Brazilian origin of our product as well as its quality. To help combat counterfeiting, the unique Product Identification Number printed on the Certificate of Authenticity is also labelled on the box, on the product instruction leaflet sealed inside the plastic tube with the hair, and – in case of Distributor / Franchisee sold product – also on the sample envelope. For those clients who ordered their product with it, a Certificate of Origin complete with donor photographs is also included.
